EPA risk assessment for Radon in indoor air: The EPA has updated it’s estimate of lung cancer risk from exposure to radon in indoor air. The agency now estimates that there are about 21000 (1 out of 9) annual radon related lung cancer deaths per year. Knowledge of the elevated levels and proper remediation has shown to significantly reduces the risk.
The Florida Department of Health, EPA, Surgeon General, all recommended testing for radon during the purchase of every home.
